Architecture in service
Three decades of work.
Three decades of questions:
Will this building contribute to the wellbeing of the people it is intended for? Can it strengthen the ties that pull a neighborhood together? Is it environmentally responsive? Does every square foot serve its owner’s mission and culture?
Three decades of yes.
Principles and principals
ARC Architects was formed as Architectural Resources Collaborative more than 30 years ago, in the basement of a Queen Anne house. As the name suggests, our founding partners based their practice on an extraordinary model: one that prizes teamwork over hierarchy, and connects design inspiration with human values.
That model lives on today, in the diversity of our projects and the populations they serve. And in the uniquely collaborative nature of our work environment, where our principals Rex Bond and Stan Lokting are actively involved with every project we engage, from early visioning sessions through design, construction and occupancy.
A culture of inclusiveness
ARC Architects is committed to supporting our clients, colleagues and communities in the interest of a better quality of life for all. That means providing the very best value for every dollar our clients spend, and genuinely engaging them in our design process; donating time, money and expertise to our clients’ causes and activities every year; and participating in a variety of community and design groups dedicated to enhancing social and cultural interactions.
We focus on designing environmentally responsive buildings that reduce resource use and utilize healthy, recycled and renewable materials. More than 80 percent of our staff are LEED Accredited Professionals, and our LEED projects serve as an earth-friendly model for their communities.
