A Place to Call Home

The Elder Assisted Living Facility is a 20-unit residential addition to the existing Elder Center.

Drawing design inspiration from longhouse architecture, the existing Elder Center celebrates the Puyallup Tribe’s culture and tradition. For the well-being of the Elders, the facility includes gathering spaces, classrooms, art rooms, banquet facility, library, health and wellness center with hydrotherapy pool, and massage and exercise rooms. The addition of assisted Elder housing to the existing Elder Center is a natural symbiotic relationship. The housing provides the Tribe’s Elders a safe, secure and supportive living experience in studio and 1-bedroom suites, aided by support spaces for nurses and caregivers.

The assisted living home welcomes families to visit with their Elders and gather with friends in the community rooms and adjacent Spirit Garden.  The housing tucks into the hillside, connected on the ground floor to the Elder Center to allow for shared program including full meal services in its dining room and use of all social and wellness support spaces.  The assisted living facility gives the Elders a comfortable place to call home.
