After 47 years, the Redmond Pool’s systems have outlived their useful life, and improvements to the pool are necessary and critical to the future use of the pool as a community space. A first phase of essential improvements led by McKinstry broke ground in the summer of 2019 with building systems and envelope improvements that will result in better air and water quality, energy efficiencies, operational savings and help preserve the pool for another 25 to 30 years.

The ARC Architects-led team is responsible for the second phase of improvements which are scheduled to commence construction in the summer of 2020. The primary focus of this effort is to enhance the customer experience for the more than 90,000 visitors who visit the pool annually. Several options are being investigated with public and staff involvement including: locker room and lobby enhancements, new pool decking and acoustics, improved site and building accessibility, introduction of community gathering spaces, and expanded storage.
