ARC worked with Volunteers of America Western Washington on the design for a new community center in Lynnwood, WA. The new center provides opportunities for recreation, special events, community meetings, preschool classrooms, Boys & Girls Club, adult day program, and support services.

The primary gathering space in the Neighborhood Center is designed around an interior courtyard similar to a traditional piazza or zocalo. These places have a strong sense of community and support, where different generations can all come together. A small coffee service and seating area provide a casual, cozy gathering place.
The Lynnwood Neighborhood Center was funded through a several public funding grants and private donations. Rick Steves was an initial and major investor in this project.
The new Center opened in January 2026. GLY Inc. was the General Contractor and a great partner for this project.
The center provides space for four preschool classrooms, the Boys & Girls Club, and an adult day program, as well as a multipurpose event space, teaching kitchens, offices, and services for community members.
